Many small companies are trying to get started these days, but they want to get their business out there. A company may use the internet as an obvious resource, but there are many alternatives. TV ads, Telephone Book ads, Newspapers, Radio, Signs, and even sky writing. You could contact carrier bag suppliers and seek to get your brand printed on bags. A company needs to think out of the box so their ad stays in the minds of their target audience. Uniqueness is key. Word of mouth is often a great way of getting the news out about something. Spreading news from person to person eventually builds to a large amount of people if done successfully. Offering items to get people in the store is also a common tactic used in marketing. Offering items at a much lower price then the competition may cause a loss on the owner's end, but could pay off in the long run. |

Ask most people, and they'll tell you that keeping costs low and saving money is a very difficult process, but I would disagree with that assessment. For me, it's actually very simple, and requires nothing more than a little common sense. For starters, I try not to spend considerable amounts of money on anything I don't really need. I have enough luxuries in my life, I don't need any more. If it's a necessity, I buy it, but if not, more often than not I have the willpower to stay away. Next, I have a set amount of money I am able to spend per month, and I am only allowed to exceed this amount in a given month in case of emergency. This allows me to keep an eye on my annual spending, and also not find myself in any financial trouble. If my annual income increases or decreases, I will adjust the number I allot myself accordingly, but if my income remains steady so does my budget. Lastly, I look for sales and bargains. I'm going grocery shopping, I try to buy primarily what's on sale. I'm not a picky eater, so I purchase sale items and keep the costs down. It may not be the most luxurious route you can take at the grocery store, but it certainly isn't a nightmare either, and what's better than saving money, right? I take all the steps necessary to make sure I have money set aside for a rainy day, should one ever come. |
